“I came to my middle school in 7th grade and was there for a semester and a half. At that time, COVID hit and it created a whole middle school experience that I didn’t expect. I wasn’t able to see my friends or teachers and I wasn’t able to create stronger friendships. Because of that, I only have a few close friends. Although online school has its benefits like waking up later, it has definitely affected me mentally.
Now that I’ve almost gotten used to the new lifestyle, it is getting easier to cooperate. It was harder to understand lessons that were taught, being a visual learner. I hope I can start high school in person next year!” - Zoie, 13
