"For me, it wasn't only about the pandemic, but I also had to experience the fear of racism after I saw what happened to George Floyd. No one wants to live in a world with fear, especially kids. I feel that we can't stop protesting, George Floyd was the breaking point, there are so many more we need justice for.
No one wants to have to walk outside and feel like you are going to get attacked, or feel in some areas that you are going to get jumped, or you are going to get hurt. No one wants to feel that, no one wants to feel that because that’s not a nice feeling of being scared because then you are in a fight or flight situation and you don’t want to be in that. I’ve been in that situation and I feel like I’m dying. Kids are not supposed to be afraid of police officers. Papa got pulled over and I was crying, I shouldn’t have to be crying, I shouldn’t have to be crying about police officers!” - Alexa, 11
